The AP has called it

They are saying Obama has effectively clinched the nomination. We all knew this, but until it is public, I'm not declaring it over.

He has 7 supers today and needs about 20 more to secure it fully.

MJ Edit: First Read has Obama getting 11+ supers so far today and needing only 27.5 to secure. If you subtract the 15 he'll get tonight then that puts the magic number around 13 delegates by 10 pm tonight.

BF UPDATE: The superdelegates from Montana, who's party charter prohibits them from endorsing before the primary, said they will go with who wins tonight. That means 5 more.

Also, Jimmy Carter. That makes it 6.

I am having trouble keeping all of the counts because no one seems to have a complete list of all the endorsements today.

One troubling development? Ken Salazar, a U.S. Senator is trying to put together a group of senators who go to Obama and say 'we will only endorse you if you choose Hillary as the VP'.

MJ: From the 5:22 post on Demconwatch but I don't know if they have updated yet or not. Previously they were at 27.5 aka 13:

Update: The Obama Campaign has just issued a press release
with 10 additional Edwards delegates that have switched their vote to Obama.
We are working with Green Papers to make an update.

And now Maxine Waters finally made the switch. The endorsements seem to be rolling in on http://demconwatch.blogspot.com/.

4 pm...MSNBC has confirmed that Clinton has told New York reporters she would "be interested" in the VP spot with Obama...if he asked her.

Sounds like an admission to me!

(Let's really hope he doesn't ask)

correction....
Sorry...she didn't tell reporters that...it was the New York Congressional Delegation. My bad.

Also...Jimmy Carter will officially endorse Obama as soon as the polls close tonight.

Oh happy day...

man, I hope he doesn't put her on the ticket. I think Halperin said that the longer he takes to announce his VP ticket, the more he will inflame screams of "why ISN'T he picking her?!?" and that it will only piss her supporters off even more. Maybe he'll walk out on stage with his VP tonight!! haha yeah right

Apparently Wes Clark introduced Sebelius as the next VP. Hmmmm.

Um, dude is down to 15 or so. Add the 5 from Montana and then Jimmy Carter and that makes the number 9.

Unless Ken Salazar has a coalition that numbers 200 then I'm pretty sure he can eat a dick.
