Hardball: The Israeli Hit

Toyotas: Menace II Society

In a harrowing story, an officer helps bring a runaway Prius to a safe stop after its accelerator becomes stuck. O-Dog wouldn't take this.

Quote of the day....

President Obama on the urgency of passing healthcare reform:
"If not now, then when? If not us, then who?"

The Pacific on HBO

Premieres this Sunday. I can't wait. Band of Brothers followed the European front of WWII. This is going to follow the Pacific front. It is a 10 part mini-series, and if you remember the end of Band of Brothers, certain members of Easy Company were going home and some where going to fight the Japanese.

Biometric ID Card

How do we stop the illegals from stealing our jobs? Biometric ID cards. They would prevent employers from hiring those without them, and every US worker would eventually have to get one. And we all know, that if there are no jobs for the illegals, illegal immigration grinds to a halt. This seems to be the route Congress is going.

Religious Wars in Nigeria

Muslim herdsman kill Christians in response to Christians killing Muslims. It sounds like Rwanda to me. They're hacking each other to death. 500 have died so far. This is the dark side of Christian missionary work.

Let's drink, ladies

Women who drink moderately less likely to gain weight.

I didn't know there were people out there like this

The Supreme Court is going to rule on a case where a bapist preacher protested the funeral of a soldier. This crazy preacher says that soldiers die because of gays, and he has protested numerous soldier funerals around the country. The father of the soldier in question then sued, and won a $10 million settlement. It was eventually thrown out, but will now be ruled upon by the SC.

The preacher's group held signs at the funeral that said 'God Bless IEDs' and 'Thank God for dead soldiers'.

Massa: It's not my fault

Apparently, the Democratic Rep who is resigning amid a sexual harassment scandal...of another man...is now blaming the White House, saying that he didn't harass the aide, but that Rahm Emanuel is pushing him out because of healthcare reform.

A new sin tax

If you tax sugary beverages, you drastically cut the rates of childhood obesity, and probably obesity overall. A can of pop is 150 calories.

Stat of the night....

From NBC News....voter turnout was higher in Iraq than it has been since the 70s in the United States.

President Obama rallies support for healthcare

The White House Communications Errors

A New York Times story profiles David Axelrod, the president's communications chief and confidant. It seems that the White House is getting praise for running the day to day of the country, but they're getting hammered for not telling people about it effectively enough.

He must be a reader of this blog...

I think we figured out the identity of one of this site's 9 readers, 9/11 anonymous. Iran's president came out today and said 9/11 was a big lie.

American Al Qaeda Spokesman Arrested

Another major arrest by the Pakistanis today in Karachi. Adam Gadahn, who was born in California, converted to Islam and went to Pakistan. He became the english speaking spokesman for Al Qaeda. He was charged with treason and there was a $1 million reward for his arrest.

All I'm saying is don't home school your kids. They'll convert to Islam and become terrorists.

UPDATE: An American Al Qaeda operative was captured in Karachi, Pakistan yesterday, but it wasn't the spokesman from California. This guy is from Pennsylvania. Here is my question....how many American Al Qaeda are they, and how many have passports? Should Obama come out and ask people who may have kids that left and joined up to contact the government?

The polls close in Iraq

Even though bombers tried to target the elections all day long, killing upwards of 38 people, the Iraqis still came out to vote today in Parliamentary elections. Election observers said that the number of people voting steadily increased throughout the day. Some Iraqis said they only came out after the bombings to show defiance to the insurgents.

Another Pakistani Taliban Leader Killed

After a missile strike on a compound, Pakistan used helicopter gun ships to finish off the rest of the militants.

John McCain is going to lose in Arizona

And his competitor in this Republican primary is already under his thin skin....with an Avatar themed ad. The first ad shows McCain with blue stripes on his face. McCain asked for it to be removed, so then Hayworth released one with more face paint. Funny.

The decline of Western society

Black Hawk Down 2.0

Recent polling has found that 40% of Republicans either believe or don't know if President Obama is a Muslim. The worst of these right wing attacks is that Barack Obama is a manchurian candidate stealth Muslim who is going to turn the nation's nukes on our own cities. But, for a stealth Muslim president, his ass sure likes military operations in Muslim countries. We're helping the Somalis prepare to take back their capital, it looks like, with advice and hardware. Maybe Obama is a Shiite, since all of our operations are in Sunni countries, and he is letting Iran build the bomb....

Just in time for summer!

11 more body scanners in American airports. You better start getting in shape now. There is a huge Japanese market for the leaked photos of American naughty bits passing through security. Japanese businessmen like to piss on them.

Misleading headline of the day....

"REPORT: 1 in 3 killed by drones are civilians"

Yes, this may be true, but it's a civilian hanging out with 2 terrorists.

Beats you need....

Ice Cube & Dr. Dre - Natural Born Killers
Ice Cube & DMX - We be Clubbin'(Remix)

Cartoon of the Day

TONIGHT on HBO: Real Time with Bill Maher

Should be a pretty raucous show. Guests tonight are Michael Moore, Sean Penn (who I heard has actually working pretty hard in Haiti), Ariana Huffington, and NYT financial columnist and author of "Too Big To Fail" Andrew Ross Sorkin.
